BIOGRAPHY

Olivia Pinkney is a self-taught British artist whose evocative paintings explore the vulnerability, tenderness, and raw complexity of the human condition. With a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Kent, Pinkney is deeply engaged with storytelling—unearthing the narratives embedded within the human form and exposing what is often concealed by social conditioning.
For over 15 years, she has honed her craft in portraiture, a discipline she views as an intimate energy exchange—translating the essence of her subjects onto canvas in ways photography cannot. Her work captures the depths of human expression, revealing the desire to be seen in both pain and authenticity.
Based in East London, Pinkney has exhibited in both London and Hastings, with notable showcases at Art on a Postcard, The Holy Art Gallery, Espacio Gallery, The Royal Court Theatre, and The Hastings Arts Forum. Her practice is deeply personal—confronting her own struggles by bringing shadowed emotions into the light, creating space for reflection, and celebrating the beauty in raw honesty.
In addition to her work as a visual artist, Pinkney is also an actor and musician, further expanding her exploration of human consciousness through multiple creative disciplines.
